How to get vehicle ownership?

You have won the auction, congratulations!

You've won a vehicle auction and wondering what happens next. This article explains step by step how to pay, pick up and get vehicle ownership change done. 

Follow next steps:

1. Log in with your username
2. Pay the item normally according to the payment instructions
   2.a) If you want vehicle decommissioning from traffic use, you need to inform us right after payment
3. After payment we ask you to fill the information of the person or company in whose name you want the vehicle registration to be made. If you don't give the needed information right after payment, you can do so by logging in with your username afterwards. You will see the vehicle(s) waiting for registration information immediately on the front page:
4. When the item is paid and you've received confirmation from Huutokaupat.com that the payment has arrived, you can agree to pick up. You will receive the contact information upon receipt of payment.
5. Always arrange pickup in advance
6. Check the condition of the vehicle upon pick up. Compare it to the information written in the announcement. If you notice something is wrong, contact our customer service immediately. Huutokaupat.com is the seller of the vehicle, so we are responsible for any feedback or complaint. (If the seller is someone else than Huutokaupat.com, we will forward your feedback to the correct address.)
7. Before driving the vehicle, check its traffic use. It can be checked on Traficom's e-Service or by calling them 
8. Huutokaupat.com takes the vehicle for traffic use by default, unless otherwise agreed. While Huutokaupat.com is owner of vehicle, there is (group motor liability) insurance for the vehicle. Please note, that the insurance covers damage to the innocent party's property. We recommend obtaining your own, (extensive) insurance before picking up the vehicle or as soon as possible afterwards.
9. Huutokaupat.com/Mezzoforte Oy make the change of ownership to you after we have checked everything is in order and there is no e.g. overdue vehicle taxes.
   9.a) If you bought the vehicle in Huutokaupat.com's Kuluttajahuutokaupat (Individual consumer seller), we send the change of ownership to you after after you have confirmed the pick up the vehicle.
10. You will receive an e-mail when everything is ready and the vehicle ownership is made to you. Make notification of the ownership change within 7 days of the date when Huutokaupat.com has transferred the vehicle to you. At the same time, you can also add other owners or holders for the vehicle. Note that the vehicle must have valid insurance before you can register it.
11. After the payment it usually takes 3-5 business days to make the change of ownership. If you haven't received a message from us in a week and a half or the vehicle does not appear in Traficom's My e-Service, please contact customer service.

Please take note that Huutokaupat.com cannot make the change of ownership abroad. 

If you want to export the vehicle, you need to make the notification of the ownership in Finland first. After you are the owner of the vehicle in Finland, you can complete an export registration.
