This instruction applies to customers listing on behalf of a company. If you have listed an item as a private individual, under no circumstances should you accept payment directly from the bidder. This is considered a bypass sale of the item, which violates the terms of Huutokaupat.com’s consumer auction.
How payment is made for items listed on behalf of a company depends on whether the item is a Huutokaupat.com Sale or a User-to-User Sale. If an item listed as a Huutokaupat.com Sale is paid directly to the seller instead of through Huutokaupat.com, we are not a party to the transaction and therefore cannot accept any responsibility for the sale.
Huutokaupat.com Sales
When Huutokaupat.com is the seller of the item, the item cannot be paid directly to the seller; payment is always made through the service using a payment link, online bank transfer, or wire transfer. If an item listed as a Huutokaupat.com Sale is paid directly to the seller instead of through Huutokaupat.com, we are not a party to the transaction and therefore cannot accept any responsibility for the sale. User-to-User Sales
If the auction is a user-to-user sale, meaning the seller is the company that listed the auction or its principal, the item is always paid directly to the seller according to the separate payment instructions provided by the seller.
The buyer receives payment instructions from the seller upon request after the offer is accepted. If the seller has entered the payment information in the item listing, the buyer will find them in the email received after the offer is accepted.
The seller is responsible for providing the contract of sale and receipt to the buyer in user-to-user sales.
Item paid contrary to payment instructions
If, for some reason, the bidder and company seller have agreed between themselves to pay directly in Huutokaupat.com Sales, the following should be noted:
- The item becomes a User-to-User Sale, meaning the seller is the company that listed the auction, not Huutokaupat.com.
- The seller is responsible for providing the contract of sale and receipt to the buyer.
- The seller is then directly responsible for all possible post-sale tasks. Huutokaupat.com does not accept any responsibility for User-to-User Sales.
In this situation, the seller should mark the item as paid via the My Page section:
- Log in with the company credentials
- Find the item under My Auctions > Accepted
- For the item, click Contact Information
- A new window will open where you can select Mark as Paid
- Click confirm, and the buyer will receive confirmation of the payment by email.
If you have paid the item directly to the seller or received such a payment as a seller, please inform our customer service.
