The registration process for international business buyers differs from Finnish procedures and requires manual handling at a Finnish inspection station. Ignore automated registration emails, as the process is managed weekly by the registration team. Buyers receive a Deed of Transfer by email to notify authorities of export. Physical documents must be collected in person from inspection offices, with any fees borne by the buyer. Do not export the vehicle before receiving final handover instructions.
The registration process for international business buyers differs from standard Finnish procedures. Please follow these steps to ensure a smooth transfer of ownership and legal export.
1. Ignore automated registration emails
Once your payment is registered, our system may automatically send you a registration form or reminders to complete the registration online via Traficom. Please ignore these messages. As an international business buyer, your registration cannot be completed online, since it requires a manual process at a Finnish inspection station (katsastusasema).
2. The handover process & timeline
Our registration team handles handover notifications for international buyers in batches, typically once a week.
Processing Time: There may be a slight delay (up to one week) before your transfer documents are ready.
Notification: You will receive a specific email from our registration team as soon as the handover notification for your company has been processed.
3. Deed of transfer
Once the process is ready, you will receive a Deed of transfer by email.
Verify Details: Ensure your Company Name and Business ID (VAT number) are correct.
Export Notification: You can use this Deed of Transfer at a Finnish vehicle registration inspection site to officially notify the authorities of the vehicle's export.
4. Collecting physical documents
Please note that Huutokaupat.com does not mail technical registration documents (Part I and Part II).
Local Collection: These documents must be collected in person from a Finnish inspection office by a company representative or an authorized person.
Fees: Any fees charged by the inspection station for the documents are the responsibility of the buyer.
5. Important: Wait before exporting
We strongly recommend that you do not take the vehicle outside of Finland until you have received the final email from our registration team with the completed handover instructions.
