What happens during the pickup of an item you sold?

This guide applies to private individuals listing items in the Consumer Auction.

If you are listing an item on behalf of a company, you can arrange the pickup with the buyer after you have received a payment confirmation from Huutokaupat.com.

ℹ️ Please note: A bank payment receipt or other external document is not sufficient – always wait for a payment confirmation from us.

This is how the pickup of an item listed by a private individual takes place

  1. Payment confirmation
    • Once the buyer has paid for the item and the payment has been confirmed as received by Huutokaupat.com, both the buyer and the seller will receive each other's contact information.
  2. Arranging the pickup
    • The buyer and the seller agree together on the pickup time.
    • The publisher ensures that all items included in the sale are ready for pickup (tires, service book, keys, etc.)
  3. Inspection and possible test drive
    • The buyer checks that the item matches the listing, for example, by taking a test drive.
    • It is a good idea to do the test drive together with the buyer.
    • If the item does not match the listing, the buyer has the right to refuse to collect the item.
  4. Marking the item as handed over
    • Once the buyer has picked up the item, they confirm it to us.
    • The publisher must also log in to their My Page and mark the item as handed over in the My listings section.

Transferring the payment

✅ Once both parties have confirmed the pickup and two (2) business days have passed since the pickup, we will transfer the sales amount to the publisher. We do this to ensure safe and reliable trading for all parties.
