How Do I Submit a Listing as a Private Individual?

This article guides private individuals on how to submit a sales listing for an auction. First, check the suitability of the item, take at least 10 photos, and carefully fill out the listing form. The listing is done via an online form where you enter details, set a target price, and the auction duration. The listing is reviewed by customer service and published. After publication, wait for bids, which often increase toward the end of the auction.

This guide explains how a private individual can create a listing.

If you want to list as a business seller, see the instructions How Do I Start Listing?.

1. Check That the Item Is Suitable for Listing as a Private Individual

2. Take Photos and Inspect the Item

  • Wash and inspect the item before photographing: tire tread wear, odometer reading, functionality of accessories, paint condition of the body, defects.
  • Take at least 10 horizontal photos (preferably many more).
  • 👉 See instructions: How Do I Take Good Photos for a Sales Listing?
  • Do not copy photos from others or use screenshots.

3. Open the Listing Form

4. Fill in the Listing Details

  • Vehicle Information
    • Basic information comes from Traficom; check it carefully.
    • Edit the information if necessary by clicking the orange "you can edit them" text.
  • Copying Information and Photos from Nettiauto
    • After copying, remove price details from other services.
    • The item must not be actively for sale elsewhere during the auction.
  • Auction Details
    • Starting price is €0 in both sales methods. Only if the auction is renewed by customer service can a starting price be set for the item.
    • Price reservation: Bids start from €0. If bids meet your set price reservation, the item becomes a "Sold to the Highest Bidder" listing, and the highest bid is automatically accepted when the auction ends. If bids remain below the price reservation, you have the right to accept or reject the highest bid.
    • Right to reject bids: Bids start from €0. You have the right to reject or accept the highest bid. The target price is the amount you hope to get for the item. It is not shown publicly or affects the starting price; it only automatically sets the minimum bid increment.
    • Auction duration: We recommend 3-5 days.
    • Listing publication: Publish immediately or later
  • Photos
    • Add the photos you took. Do not copy photos from others or use screenshots.
  • Item Description
    • Include: Key accessories, maintenance and repairs, history information, ownership changes.
    • A good description improves the final price.
    • Short or incomplete information may raise suspicion, slow price increases, or cause follow-up issues. A bidder might also notice the item only at the last moment and not have time to request additional information.

  • Condition and Accessories
    • Disclose defects and shortcomings openly. Honesty builds trust and prevents complaints.
    • List even minor possible defects, error codes, repair recommendations, rust, dents, or non-functional accessories.
  • Location and Pickup
    • Visible only to the auction winner.

5. Proceed to Preview

  • Check all information carefully.

6. Submit the Listing for Review and Publication

  • Submit the listing for publication.
  • The listing will be reviewed as soon as possible (within 1-2 business days).
  • You will receive an email notifying you whether the listing has been published or if additional information is needed.

7. Monitor the Auction

  • Once the listing is published, bidders can place bids on your item!
  • Most bids come at the end of the auction. So stay calm and let the auction progress at its own pace.
  • If you want to edit the listing, contact customer service and provide the item number.
