How do I register a vehicle I have won in my name?

Congratulations on winning the auction! This guide explains step by step how the buyer can register the item in their name. 

Follow these steps:

1. Log in to Huutokaupat.com and pay for the item as usual according to the payment instructions. 
2. Once you have paid for the vehicle, you can fill in the details of the person or company in whose name you want the transfer notification to be made. If you do not provide the registration details immediately after payment, you can enter them later while logged in. You will see vehicles awaiting registration information right on your personal homepage.
3. After you have paid for the vehicle, you can pick it up at an agreed time with the seller, even if ownership has not yet been transferred to your name in Traficom. Just make sure before you leave for home to check that the vehicle is in traffic use. You can check roadworthiness, for example, through the Traficom online service or by calling Traficom's phone service.
4. Once the seller has transferred ownership of the vehicle to us (Huutokaupat.com/Mezzoforte Oy), we will take the vehicle into traffic use and make the transfer notification to you. For the period the vehicle is in our name, it is covered by a warehouse insurance, which covers damages caused to the other party in the event of an accident. We recommend that the buyer takes out their own (more comprehensive) insurance before collecting the vehicle.
5. Usually, it takes 3-5 business days from payment to transfer notification. If you have not received a message from us within five business days (please remember to check all your email folders) or the vehicle is not listed as transferred to you in Traficom's Oma asiointi, please contact our customer service via the contact form.
   Exception: If you have purchased the vehicle from Huutokaupat.com's Consumer Auction, the transfer notification will only be sent to you after you have confirmed that you have collected the vehicle.
6. You will receive an email when the transfer notification has been made to you. You must accept the transfer notification within seven (7) days of its creation. This is easiest to do through the Traficom.fi Oma asiointi service. Please note that the vehicle must have valid insurance before registration.
7. Do not worry if the vehicle has outstanding vehicle tax that has not yet fallen due, this is normal. Many seller companies pay the taxes only on the due date. If later the vehicle tax becomes due and concerns a period when the vehicle was not in your name, please contact us and we will help and contact the seller if necessary.
